My son, if sinners entice thee, Consent thou not. If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, Let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; And whole, as those that go down into the pit: We shall find all precious substance, We shall fill our houses with spoil: Cast in thy lot among us; Let us all have one purse: My son, walk not thou in the way with them; Refrain thy foot from their path: For their feet run to evil, And make haste to shed blood. Surely in vain the net is spread In the sight of any bird. And they lay wait for their own blood; They lurk privily for their own lives. So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; Which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.
Proverbs 1:10-19
Anytime someone asks you to join them in a money making scheme and says it will be easy, fun, fast, or tries to downplay principles such as responsibility, character, hard work or time – they are not being truthful. There are only two ways to make money: by having a headache or a back ache… Anything else is a lie.
On top of that, if the person telling such a lie wants to poach money by taking valuables from others they are setting a trap to destroy themselves.
One of my kids recently came up to me and jokingly asked how hard it would be to rob a bank. I thought about it for a few seconds and realized it would be FAR EASIER to start a new business and make it profitable than it would be to try and rob a bank. One of my other kids chipped in that there is a comedy routine saying you can go work at a bank and they will give you money every week and after 20 years you get to walk away free.
It is easier, in the long run, to do things the right way (Good understanding giveth favour: But the way of transgressors is hard. Proverbs 13:15 KJV)
